Established on 8 November 1999 at the University of Lomé, the CUER promotes an integrated system of research, teaching and training in the field of renewable energy.
The Chair facilitates collaboration between University of Lomé faculty and colleagues worldwide, along with community engagement and communication.
With solid experience (improved cookstoves, solar generators installed in schools, training artisans to build solar water heaters, training master's students in PV maintenance), the CUER has the qualified human resources to understand and implement any solar PV project.
It brings together faculty from the Department of Physics, the Lomé Polytechnic School and the Solar Energy Laboratory. It is coordinated by its current head, Professor LARE Yendoubé.
