Niyem M. Bawana, PhD
Assistant Professor, University of Colorado Boulder
"Talent knows no borders, and neither should opportunities."
My journey began in Togo, where I earned my Bachelor's and Master's degrees in Physics from the University of Lomé, before serving as a high school physics and chemistry teacher from 2008 to 2017.
Aspiring to new horizons, I traveled to the United States to pursue graduate studies on a prestigious American scholarship: the Fulbright Scholarship. I earned my PhD there and navigated the U.S. immigration system myself, step by step.
That personal experience is at the heart of how we work today: honest, methodical, and always on the candidate's side.
Today I split my time between teaching and research at CU Boulder and guiding international scientists, engineers, and physicians through the U.S. and Canadian immigration systems.
